Carer information and support programme

A series of workshops for people caring for a family member or friend with dementia.

They provide an opportunity to talk in a friendly and confidential environment about your experiences and the impact they are having on you. The workshops aim to provide you with information and support.

Topics will include:

  • what is dementia
  • how you can support and care for someone with dementia
  • the support services that are available
  • planning for the future

4 Week programme

The free 4 week programme is held in venues across the East Riding, and run by Alzheimer’s Society Staff and volunteers for a group of up to 12 people who care for a family member or friend with dementia.

The following are some of the comments we have had from carers who have attended our Carer Information and Support Programme.

“Very well presented and informative.  Very casual and informal atmosphere.”

“Everything about the programme was presented with a smile and made you feel at ease and able to talk about how you feel with confidence.”

“Very professional and in a very helpful and friendly manner.  It has restored my faith that the Society is always there for support and advice.”
